Dan Peate / Founder and Managing Director
Dan Peate is Founder and General Partner of Peate ventures. He is also the Founder of Avinew and was Founder and CEO of Hixme. Dan has previously held senior executive roles at Arthur J. Gallagher and Aon. He sits on the boards of Avinew, CardiacDirect and Boom Studios. Dan and his wife Coco sit on several nonprofit and charitable boards. He and his wife currently reside in Thousand Oaks with their 7 children. Dan is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a Reagan intern.
Erik T. Smith / Partner
Erik is a Partner at Peate ventures. His role includes evaluating various venture capital opportunities. Erik was an early investor and board member of Hixme, a health care technology company funded by Kleiner Perkins. He has also been involved with several entertainment ventures and groups. Erik is involved with the Peate ventures portfolio company, Avinew. Erik was VP at Berkadia one the nation’s largest real estate financial firms and a Berkshire Hathaway Company. Erik is also an honors graduate of Harvard and the University of Florida. Prior to law school, Erik served on the Capitol Hill as a Legislative Advisor for the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
Justin Saltzman / CFO
Justin is CFO of Peate Ventures. Prior to joining Peate he was responsible for finance at Castle & Cooke. Justin also spent a number of years in various finance and accounting roles with the Arizona Cardinals. Justin began his career at Thomson Reuters and Near North Insurance. He holds a BS in finance from the University of Arizona.
